What DVD driver is compatible with my computer?

I have an older HP Pavilion model number a1410y and I want to add a DVD ROM to it but I'm computer illiterate and after much searching, still don't know what driver would be compatible with my computer. If anyone can let me know if just any one will work or if i do indeed need a certain kind, i would be grateful! thanks!
