What program can be used to find out what's using my memory (e.g .avi files somewhere on the hard-drive)?

Do you mean using your memory or your hard drive space. If you are worried about memory usage then simply open task manager and you will see a list with amount memory used. If you are worried about hard drive space, you can right click on any folder and click properties and it will tell you the folder's size.
