Fuerteventura, is it safe for a single woman travelling abroad alone?

I had a terrible year last year, I split up with my husband and also other things happened, so I am hoping this year is going to be a bit better, so I am looking at booking a holiday at the beginning of February, I fancy Corralejo in Fuerteventura as the weather is still quite warm, but am a bit wary as I have never travelled alone, does anybody know if it is a safe place to go to alone, I am 41 years old and don't want to go to a clubbers place but somewhere a bit quieter?
