Is it bad to cook eggs (not boiled eggs) in a pot and not skillet??

My roomate told me a pot is not made for cooking eggs. Is this true? Aren't the bottoms all the same? I thought a pot and skillet were only different for the holding of different foods. Hmmmm.....
