My 7 week old son has literally (and I mean this literally) slept a wink all day long since about 9 this morning. How do I know if the power supply is bad or the motherboard is bad? Or maybe some other component is bad?

Ok, I have a Dell Dimension 2400. When plugged in the green standby light on the motherboard comes on. When you press the power on though, nothing happens. I've tried other ATX PSU (known to work), but still get nothing. I've tried byping the power on, but jumping the connections...still nothing. My latest attempt was to put a jumper wire in the back of the 20 pin connection between the green wire and the ground....the results were: PSU fan came on, and the CPU cooling fan came on and one of the LED's of the front panel came on (identified as the HDD activity LED). However, at this point the HDD was not even in the case (I was retrieving pictures, since I could not get the computer to even boot). Since the fans came on I put the HDD back in, but though I got the same results, the HDD didn't seem to spin or show any other signs of working (I was able to hook it to another comp. to retrieve pictures, so I know it is functional). Just wondering if there is another way to test? Should the jumper to the 20 pin connection rule out a bad power switch? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I attended Drake University, and the other schools I considered were Marquette and Bradley. I think the size (cl sizes as well as campus size) and general atmosphere were all fairly comparable. Marquette, obviously, is in a larger city and was bigger overall. And Bradley's smaller. I am not aware of any other schools that use the "Areas of Inquiry" curriculum, which is both a positive and a negative. Grant Hill in my opinion never reached his prime, his averages were going up every year to 25 ppg before is injury I think he was still going to get better. The first three in team one are all better than two. But bird and wilkins are a lot better than bowen and marion. it's really not as hard as it looks. you'll have to take it slow at first, but after you play it through a couple times then it's not too bad. I"m also self taught, and I've learned that if you're motivated to teach yourself, the best way to get better is to play songs that might be too hard for you. I have had a couple fresh rosemary sprigs in my refrigerator for about 1 1/2 weeks now. Are they still good?

I want to use them in my crock pot roast today. I Added my beef stock and other herbs, and want to lay the rosemary sprigs in the liquid as well, then place roast in pot to simmer all day. My question is, this is the first time buying fresh rosemary sprigs, bought them last wk for a recipe. Thought they sounded good for the roast. But I believe that anything to do with prices should be clearly and conspicuously marked, to put it in the consumers side, I can't report to the BBB that they swindled me (which in reality they did, and many others) but I can report them engaging in what is at best a questionable business practice. At least I believe so. I just want everyone to know that Brinks does this so people will know and others won't get duped the way I did. It's too late for me but hopefully anyone else with a contract anywhere near termination should verify if they're in the 30-day window. I got my drivers license about a month ago. Today I got in a car accident trying to make a turn through a 2 lane road. How ever there was a large truck on the other side of the median blocking my view of any on coming traffic. I inched out more into the center didn't see any cars so I continued with my left turn and about half way through my turn i got nailed by a small Toyota. Of course I got a ticket for not yielding but now i'm asked to make a court apperance. Im only 16 and am always staying away from trouble so of course I have never been to a court room. BTW. no one was injured and the car that hit me suffered hardly no damage. My car has a nice dent where the right rear tire is. And how far out can I expect my court date to be? My neice has Lupus Erythematosus and Fibromyalgia. She is always in severe and I do mean severe pain. She had been seen by a certified nurse practitioner and then began seeing a new physician and always had a Rheumatologist. Because she felt as if she wasn't getting along with the CNP, she sought out a new physician. She visited the new physician 4 times, got her medications and had just sent a letter to the CNP to inform her that she no longer wanted to be a patient. The CNP however beat her to the punch. She received a termination letter from the CNP basically letting her go in 30 days because of communication breakdown and narcotics abuse. Now, from what my neice told me, she informed the new primary of her previously seeing a CNP and that she was not satisfied. However, you know how it is when you visit a physician. You all might mesh and you might not. At any rate, she had refills on prescriptions from all three physicians and she got them filled, not all at the same time. But, she was so hurt because she stated that morally, her CNP had an obligation to speak with her if she felt that something was wrong, and I agree. She had been seeing this CNP for over 6 years and truth be told, was only seeing her because of a friend of the family. She is known in the streets to give you whatever you want. However, my neice wasn't seeing her for that. I felt that the CNP threw her away as if she was a piece of trash. A similar situation happened with a friend of the family and through the Michigan Automated Prescription System, the state of Michigan notified her primary to pull a report from this system. The system showed that she was seeing another physician and getting her prescription with him. Because of her being red-flagged of sorts, she too was also terminated from her primary thus causing her to be so despondent that she blew off her head with a .357 magnum. Because of the doctors termination letter, she tought that she would never ever be able to find another doctor. Okay, now my neice has the new primary, whom she just loves and has her Rheumatologist as well. But yesterday, she asked me. Abuela (Although I am her aunt), do you think that I will get in trouble? My answer to her was a resounding NO! You have a right to go and see any doctor that you want. I did of course reiterate that out of fairness to the new physician, you should let them know if you still have prescriptions and/or any medications that still need to be filled. I feel bad for her because her conscience is soooo heavy. If it where not for patients, physicians would not be in business. Why do they act as if they are doing us a favor and why do they often treat everyone as potential drug addicts? My neice's fingers are so turned and twisted, you would think that she has Rheumatoid Arthritis and I know that Lupus and RA are in the same family. She is scared to go back to her Rheumatologist because of this new Mapping system. However, I told her that she has every right to talk with her doctor, whether it's doctor 1, 2 or 3. And if her Rheumatologist no longer wants to treat her then dammit, find someone else. My father always said, one monkey don't stop no show! What do you all think yahoo community? your scores are good, you have lots of options. when i joined i wanted to do fire protection (fire fighter) but i went to meps and bsaic training with no AFSC. so basically i went open general bc general was my highest score. and i got stuck in services. which isnt a bad job if you like to cook or work at a hotel or gym on base. security forces (cop) can be rewarding, but you will deploy every 6 months. 6 months gone... six months home so on and so forth,.i have lots of cop friends. and if you get into trouble while your in the security forces squadron, your punishment will be worse than what someone in services or a lax career field would get. personnel is a desk job. admin aptitude area is basically the same as personnel. i wouldnt do air crew flight equiptment bc if you get stationed up north you will still work in the winter time outside in sub 0 weather. aerial gunner is decent, ive met a few of them but unless your as fit as a horse you wont make it through their school. Ask your recruiter about SERE. those guys are basically the es of the air force. and if i could do it over again id go SERE or Fire Protection or Security Forces.

He goes to bed between 7 & 8pm we have a wind down hour to help him relax etc. He is just beginning to have 3 meals a day as well as his bottles so i am uming its ok to miss his night feeds. he normally wakes up at 3 and 4.30am for feeds then is up at 5.30 for the day. So last night for the first time i took water up instead of milk, but he was crying from about 1am every half an hour, i kept getting him out of the cot and offering the water, he would just take a sip and then snuggle into me and go back to sleep but every time i put him down he woke up half an hour later, am i right in keep getting him out of the cot to offer the water or should i put up with the constant crying by just leaving him inthe cot and soothing him, i really don't know what to do i am so tired at work and i dont have any energy to carry out a normal day i,e housework, work looking after kids, im so exhausted, has anybody got any thing else to suggest or shall i just stick to what i am doing? any help soo appreciated

And it was in japanese or chinese ( i don't understand any of these languages) but it looked really well, really pretty. Then there was a conversation going on about swine flu in the room next to where i was about how people a lot more people were getting sick. And right after that i looked at the (half) calender and then my finger (the nail part) was bleeding (but i didn't feel any pain) it was more like a moving image. But in the dream i just knew (because i was left with a strong impression while watching that man who was creating the calender)that calendar had some sort of philosophical/spiritual meaning to it. That was the whole point of why that person was making it by hand.

Cat about to die please help?

I was able to rescue a kitten off the side of the interstate the other night. Please don't judge me but I can't afford to take it to the vet. I love this cat very very much and have done everything I can. I had some leftover antibiotics from the vet when one of my cats had an upper respiratory about 2 months ago. I immediately put her on those and also have antibiotic eye meds because her eyes were messed up. (Apparently someone threw her out of a vehicle - all scabbed up from gravel and nearly starved to death). Well today she stopped eating and is too congested to breath through her nose. I know if cats can't smell their food they won't eat it. Any ideas? I tried one of those baby nose bulbs that you use to pull mucous out but not working. Maybe I'll up the dose on the antibiotic. I even put her in the bathroom with the hot shower running to help her breathe. Didn't work. Is it crazy to try Vick's or something like that???? Any ideas at all?? I really want to save this cat.

Lab Accident: What happened to my hand?

Hi everybody!! I spilled a certain chemical on my hand in the chemistry lab. I noticed that some half an hour later. There was a white stain on my thumb, which slowly grew darker, and finally became black. It does not hurt or itch, but i'm unable to wash it off(soap, vinegar nothing seems to work on it). I think it could be dilute NaOH or concentrated H2SO4, as we were working with these in the lab. Does anyone know what it is, and how I can get that off my hand?

1995 Plymouth Voyager problems?

We bought a 95 plymouth voyager in march. It was fine, then recently everytime I make a right turn, it's like the slips and goes into neutral- the only way it fixes itself is if I slowly step on the gas, then the van will kind of "jump" and kick into gear. Do I need a whole new transmission, or is it something else? I have my 21-month old in the car with me and I don't want the engine to blow up on me or something. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Teaching creationism in homeschool setting?

I am homeschooling my 3rd grade student, so information at this point isn't TOO indepth. I've reached the subject of evolution. This does not follow my own belief system but to teach her about it is the best course of action b/c if at some point she is wanting to go back to formal schooling ANY junior highschool or highschool will be teaching evolution...so again, learning about it would benefit her. Now, as I said, it's not what I believe so I would also like to teach her about creationism...and I guess that's what the root of my question would be. Does anyone know of any good sites, etc that would teach creationism in a simple, easy to understand way, that is on a third grade level??? I can teach her from what I personally believe, verses from the bible, etc. But I'm new at the homeschool thing period, so I will take all the help I can take.
